| Nadia
was born in San Francisco and
raised in Seattle. Her family
emigrated to the United States
from Iran in the 1950's. Nadia's
father has been her mentor and
educator in the construction,
pricing and quality of carpets.
As the eldest of his brothers
and sister he was responsible
for obtaining knowledge and education
in the many aspects of Iran’s
trade and culture, including the
construction of carpets.
Nadia's father, an engineer, wove as a hobby, creating portrait carpets of past Presidents and 1930-40's Hollywood movie Stars.
John was born in Sacramento,
California. His introduction
and love for oriental carpets
was acquired during his military
stay in Turkey, wherein he was
the only American at that time
working in the grand covered
bazaar of Istanbul selling carpets
and jewelry in the early 1970's.
